Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has decided to shift the entire Pakistan Super league’s 5th edition to Pakistan!

Naeemul Haq, the special assistant to Prime minister shared this news on Saturday. As per his tweet, empty stadiums at UAE is the reason behind Imran Khan’s decision to host 5th edition of PSL in Pakistan. Moreover, Imran Khan seems to have firm belief on the people of Pakistan and hence the tweet says that PSL matches will be played in all the big cities of Pakistan and that too with jam packed stadiums!

The Prime Minister of Pakistan has absolute confidence in the people of Pakistan. If the franchise is brought to Pakistan, the nation will support it by filling in the stadiums for the love of their country and cricket.

Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi’s tweet depicted how he has a similar school of thought and hence he agrees to Naeemul Haq’s tweet.

Let’s shed some light upon the history of PSL. The first edition of PSL was hosted by UAE only. Recalling the second edition of PSL, all the matches were played at UAE except for the final one that was hosted at Lahore. This marked the major comeback of international cricket in Pakistan. PSL 3 took place back in 2018 and brought a total of 3 matches in Pakistan whereas the rest of the edition was played in UAE. 2 eliminator matches were played in Lahore while the Final match of PSL 3rd edition took place in Karachi, the city of lights. PSL 4 is all ready to bring 8 matches to Pakistan. 3 of the matches will be hosted by Lahore while the other 5, including the final one, will be played in Karachi.
