Eid-ul-Adha in Pakistan is not less than a national festival, celebrated with great joy and love. The nation has now developed its own unique culture in terms of Eid-ul-Adha. Well, it is more commonly pronounced as ‘BAKRA EID’ instead of its religious origin.
EID-UL-ADHA is an Islamic festival in which Muslims around the globe offer sacrifices of animals to honor the willingness of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to ALLAH’s command. It begins on the 10th of Zilhaj, the last month of Muslim calendar and ends up by the evening of 13th.
The preparations begin almost a month before the arrival of eid. Mawashi Mandis are held in every big and small town of the country with the animals that were reared finely throughout the year. The huge crowd rushes to the mandi almost every day and evenings are filled with the sounds of “HAN BHAI KITNE KA LIYA!”
