Death toll rises to 65 as Train catches fire near Rahim Yar Khan

At least 65 people have been killed while several other injured after a Tezgam train catches fire owing to cylinder blast near Rahim Yar Khan on early Thursday Morning

According to Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid, the incident occured when pessengers were preparing their breakfast and suddenly gas cylinder exploded, leaving 65 dead and several injured.
“They belonged to a tableeghi jamaat who were headed towards Raiwand. Many people saved their lives by jumping off the train,” Sheikh Rasheed said.

Soon after the incident, rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the dead and injured to DHQ Hospital in Liaquatpur and Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Bahawalpur due to their critical condition.
